    General Information

    The minor and both his parent must all be present at the appointment.

     Israeli law stipulates that children born to Israeli citizens abroad must be registered up to 30 days from the day of birth.

     The marital status of the Israeli parent must be updated in the population registry before a child can be registered. If an update of a parent's marital status is necessary, they must apply  for a marital status update prior to registering a child.

     The minor and both his parent must all be present at the appointment

     

     Applicants 16.4 years-old and older must add an additional form concerning their military status. If this is relevant to you, please request more information below.

     

     To register a child born abroad, whose age does not exceed 28, the following documents must be prepared in both original form and in hard copies when arriving at the consulate:

     

     ·  Original birth certificate with Apostille stamp/certificate. An explanation of apostille and information on apostille services in the Southeastern United States can be found here

     · Birth notice form- To download click here

     ·  Passport request form- To download click here

     · 2 passport pictures (2x2inch), on a white background, without glasses/hats, and the hair must be behind the ears

     

     Births occurring after 01.01.2005- Following is required:

     (1) Letter from delivering doctor attesting to biological motherhood, (2) Hospital discharge summary papers

     (3) Prenatal testing images from the last trimester of pregnancy

     

     Births occurring before 01.01.2005- Following is required: affidavit pre-drafted by the mother attesting to biological motherhood including details of hospital and delivering doctor, date  and place of birth.

     

     In case marital status of one or both parents has changed (as documented in one's Israeli citizen profile) prior to child's birth, a marital status change report is due prior to child's  registration. Registration will not occur in case a report was not submitted beforehand.

     To report one's marital status change, please prepare:

     · Original marriage/divorce certificate with Apostille stamp/certificate. Application to marry does not constitute a marriage certificate.

     · In case one of the spouses is a foreign citizen, you need declaration regarding his previous personal status prior the marrying as a notary statement in front of the consul.

     

     · In case of a non-Israeli mother, the couple must prove they have reported their marriage to the ministry of interior in Israel by means of a nearby consulate or via direct report, at a date that is at least 300 days prior to child's birth. If the parents had not done so, or have never married, the couple must provide proof of an honest relationship stretching as early as 300 days prior to child's birth such as:

     

     · Lease Agreement/Contract indicating purchase of an apartment indicating both parents' names.

     ·  Utility bills indicating both parents' names.

     ·  A legal document formalizing the relationship.

     · Joint insurance policies indicating both parents' names.

     · Proof of the existence of a shared bank account indicating both parents' names.

     ·  Tax returns indicating both parents' names.

     ·  Letters from close friends and family about the couple and their relationship from the time of pregnancy and after birth. Letters must be signed by a notary public. A copy of the  written Israeli ID must be included, as well as contact information Time stamped pictures of the couple.

     · Proof of money transfers between bank accounts (if the couple doesn't have a joint bank account).

     ·  Proof of joint membership in cultural or sports institutions.

     ·  Proof of joint flights, such as boarding passes and joint hotel stays.

     · Proof of joint purchases.

     · Any other documents that will be requested at the discretion of the Consul.
